Hawthorn Manor got into the Christmas spirit early and took two residents for a trip to the Central Theatre in Chatham to watch a musical Christmas performance- Christmas Memories with Neil Sands.

Residents were taken on a day trip to Chatham Dockyard, a place where many of the residents had worked as young adults or passed through as part of the Navy.

Hawthorn Manor held a fundraising morning for the amazing ‘Wear it Pink’ Breast Cancer Now charity. Residents and their families were invited in to help raise money and take part in a quiz, fun activities and enjoyed a great raffle.

The staff at Hawthorn Manor took advantage of the autumn sunshine and took a walk over to their local pub with some of the residents to have a nice drink and chat.
Residents and staff really enjoyed being outside and watching the game. One of the residents used to play for Dartford football club about 60 years ago and was over the moon ton be watching the team play.
The Oldfarmhouse has been awarded a national Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award in recognition of the way it cares for people at the end of life.
Jenny Muka along with Monika Butland and Ivana Pavlikova received the award at the GSF annual conference and awards ceremony on Friday 29 th September at The Pendulum Hotel in Manchester – a celebration of the UK's best health and care providers for care in the final year of life.
GSF provides end of life care training and accreditation for frontline staff in health and social care, to enable a ‘gold standard’ of care for people nearing end of life.
Hawthorn Manor hosted a children’s afternoon with a Teddy Bear Picnic theme.
Children from the local community and children from the staff/residents families were invited in for the afternoon to spend time with the residents, playing with them, reading with them and giving the residents an opportunity to engage with the children to create an intergenerational bond.
Some of the staff and residents at Hawthorn Manor headed down to Herne Bay seafront this summer for some fresh sea air and fish and chips!

Heatherdale officially opened their pub with the help of their local counsellor. It was a night of fun with a Photo Booth and massive raffle with the biggest prize of a new 43 inch TV!
