With over twenty years as a qualified social worker, Richard worked in Social Services for both Medway Council and Kent County Council before joining RCB in April 2023. The last six years were spent specialising in safeguarding adults so brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in safeguarding and mental capacity work to the role.
During his tenure at the local authority, Richard obtained qualifications as a Social Work Practice Teacher and a Best Interest Assessor for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
Currently enjoying a semi-retired status, Richard devotes his time to caring for his grandchildren alongside his wife. He also engages in DIY projects and finds enjoyment in reading, and watching cricket and football.
